Filter and migrate list items within a particular record range

When viewing content in a document library and selecting a filter to choose which fields are to be migrated, I think it would also be helpful to have an option to choose a number or records or a range of records. While I do think the filter is handy, it would be just as handy to have this option which could split the migration in fixed-size chunks (eg. Record Range: 1 - 1000; 1001 - 2000; 2001 - 3000, etc).
